Kuala Lumpur, 5 August 2025 – FGV Holdings Berhad has taken a bold step in blending tradition with technology through the launch of FGV Edugames, the world’s first mobile application dedicated to sustainable palm oil education. This innovative platform transforms complex sustainability concepts into interactive and entertaining games, making learning about the palm oil industry more accessible than ever—especially for the younger generation.

Gamifying Sustainability and ESG Awareness
Developed fully in-house by FGV, Edugames offers an engaging way to explore environment, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Featuring titles such as Weevil Hero, Ladang Defence, and Waste to Wealth, the app introduces players to key concepts like biodiversity protection, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy.

FGV Group Chief Executive Officer Fakhrunniam Othman explained,
“We see FGV Edugames as a friendly and relevant way to bring the younger generation closer to the agri-commodity sector. It supports digital adaptation while encouraging understanding of sustainability and social responsibility in a fun and engaging way.”
Launched at Festival FGV 2025
The debut of Edugames took place during Festival FGV 2025, a five-day celebration from 30 July to 3 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Held alongside FELDA Settlers Day and the Karnival Mega 3 Dimensi (MK3D), the event attracted over 2.1 million visitors.

Festival FGV 2025 was not only a tribute to the hard work of FELDA settlers—who supply over 70% of FGV’s fresh fruit bunches (FFB)—but also a showcase of FGV’s innovation, technological progress, and sustainability leadership. Edugames stood out as a star attraction, reflecting the festival’s theme “Desaku Mendunia” (“My Village to the World”).
A Fun Pathway to Future-Ready Agriculture
Edugames complements FGV’s broader push towards digitalisation, automation, and renewable energy adoption in the palm oil sector. By incorporating gaming into its outreach, FGV is breaking new ground in connecting with students, young professionals, and the tech-savvy public.
Each game in the app is designed to spark curiosity:
- Weevil Hero – Teaches pest management and biodiversity balance.
- Ladang Defence – Simulates sustainable farm protection strategies.
- Waste to Wealth – Highlights waste management and circular economy benefits.
The app is available for free on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring easy access for all users.
Supporting Rural Economies Through Digital Innovation
FGV’s commitment to innovation extends beyond education—it is about empowering rural communities and enhancing Malaysia’s position in the global palm oil market. The company’s participation in MK3D and the launch of Edugames underscore a vision where sustainability, technology, and community development go hand in hand.
“Edugames is more than just entertainment—it’s an investment in the minds of our future stakeholders,” added Fakhrunniam. “By making learning about sustainability enjoyable, we can inspire the next generation to carry forward our industry’s progress with responsibility and pride.”
